Future Tense: Everyone Deserves a Pen-Friend

The main goal of the project is to strengthen older adults’ language, digital, and creative competencies through arts-based learning and international “pen pal” relationships, thereby promoting inclusion and active participation in European adult education. The project helps older learners access useful educational content by combining intuitive English language learning, basic artificial intelligence, and online tools with creative workshops that lead to collaboratively created learning materials (lesson plans, tarot-inspired cards, and memory cards). The project is implemented in line with the objectives and priorities of Erasmus+ Adult Education, particularly in the areas of inclusion, digital transformation, and the promotion of high-quality, learner-centered, non-formal adult education. Partner organizations show strong interest in intergenerational and senior education, creative methods, and international cooperation through “pen pal” exchanges and mobility programs. There is a need to move away from traditional, lecture-based adult education models toward experience-based approaches grounded in collaboration and intercultural learning that do not discriminate negatively based on age. The project’s objectives are realistic and clearly address the needs of both the participating organizations and the older target group. Activity 1. Promoting inclusion in intergenaration dance – Improving the competences of educators

The main objective of the project is to exchange best practices for promoting inclusion through intergenerational educational activities. The project aims to help older learners access meaningful educational content. The project’s theme is relevant to the objectives and priorities of the AE initiative. Adult learning and open education have become key elements in Europe. Partner organizations show great interest in intergenerational arts practices and inclusive intergenerational group dance. It is necessary to move away from traditional adult education models and rely on intergenerational education without introducing age-based discrimination. The project’s objectives are realistic and align with the intentions of the participating organizations as well as the needs of the target groups. Objectives to be achieved:1st objective – Increasing educational diversity and the use of integrative approaches, particularly group intergenerational dance.2nd objective – Equipping professionals working in adult education with the competencies necessary to engage people with fewer opportunities.3rd objective – Integrating the intergenerational dimension into the educational environments of the countries participating in the project.
