FolkFest Cultural Association
The FolkFest Cultural Association is a non-profit organization registered in Hungary. Its goal is to preserve Hungarian cultural traditions and promote them both within Hungary and beyond our borders through international partnerships. Our members are cultural professionals, folk musicians, and folk dancers who contribute to achieving our public benefit goals through volunteer work.
An important commitment of the association is to support young folk musicians and folk dancers with outstanding talent in their genre and to facilitate the start of their careers.
We provide them with performance opportunities and help them build their portfolios. To facilitate this, we engage in publishing activities: we produce and distribute records, video recordings, audiovisual educational materials, and educational apps.
We are committed to making authentic Hungarian and Carpathian Basin folk music, folk dance, and folk art as widely known and popular as possible, but we are also open to other artistic and cultural fields.
Our primary goal is to introduce young people to Hungarian folk music and folk art culture and to actively involve new generations in our association’s activities. To this end, we maintain relationships with educational institutions.
We are committed to promoting lifelong learning: through intergenerational knowledge sharing, workshops, and educational materials, we make the heritage of folk culture accessible to all age groups, strengthening community learning.
Our tasks include collaborating with partner organizations abroad and across the border.
We engage in tourism-related activities with the aim of promoting Hungarian folk culture. We conduct and support research, methodological, and expert activities in fields related to folk art, and we publish the results in publications and at conferences.
The association covers its operating costs through membership fees, donations, and grant funding. We participate in all domestic grant opportunities related to our portfolio and also monitor international grant opportunities.
